About Project HOPE

Project HOPE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to supporting families and individuals in DeKalb, Illinois, and surrounding communities.

Mission and Principles

We strive to positively affect our community and alter the trajectory of its residents. We work toward our goal by promoting self-awareness, providing intergenerational mentoring, and offering opportunities for skill-building, training, and education.

We’re guided by our values:

  • Health: We support holistic health care, which includes physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

  • Opportunity: We ensure equality and equity for those who are often overlooked.

  • Purpose: We help people develop their talents and creativity, helping them succeed and improving society for all.

  • Education: We provide opportunities for people to acquire knowledge and skills, a key component of upward mobility and poverty reduction.

  • Empowerment: We promote a safe, uplifting environment where people recognize their power—not to oppress, but to liberate.

Leadership

Our board of directors meets once a month for approximately one hour. The board will serve as the governing entity of our planned community center.
